How to use Convert Documents
Open Convert Documents and drop your documents.
Choose the output format, such as Word (.docx) or Markdown (.md).
Click Convert. The new files go to a dated folder in Downloads.
Questions about Convert Documents
How do I convert DOCX to Markdown on Mac?
Drop the .docx into Convert Documents, choose Markdown and click Convert. Headings, bold, italic, lists and links become Markdown, and images go in a folder next to the file.
Can I open a .docx file without Microsoft Word?
Convert it to RTF to open it in TextEdit, or to HTML to view it in a browser. Pages and LibreOffice can also open .docx directly.
Are images kept when converting?
They are kept in .docx, HTML and Markdown, and in RTF as RTFD. The older .doc format and .odt don't keep images.
Can I convert documents to PDF here?
Use Word to PDF for PDFs. Convert Documents is for switching between editable formats.
