Privacy Policy

The short version

Toolbox processes your files on your Mac. We never receive, store or see the videos, audio, images, PDFs or text you work with. We don’t run analytics in the app and you don’t need an account.

The Toolbox app

  • Your files. All processing happens locally. Results are written to a new dated folder in your Downloads folder (or a folder you choose). Your original files are never modified.
  • Permissions. Toolbox may ask for Screen Recording, Microphone, Speech Recognition and Downloads folder access, each only when a tool needs it. You can revoke any of them in System Settings › Privacy & Security.
  • Network access. The app connects to the internet only when you ask it to: Download Video fetches the link you provide, installing FFmpeg uses Homebrew, and licence activation sends your licence key and a name for this Mac to Dodo Payments to verify it.
  • Apple Intelligence. Summarize uses Apple’s on-device models. Apple’s own privacy policy applies to those system features.
  • Local stats. Figures such as “saved this week” are calculated and stored only on your Mac.

Buying Toolbox

Purchases are processed by Dodo Payments, which acts as merchant of record. Dodo collects the details needed to take payment, calculate tax and send your receipt and licence key (such as your name, email, billing country and payment details). We receive your name, email, country and order details so we can support you. Card details are never shared with us. See Dodo Payments’ privacy policy for how they handle your data.

This website

This site has no analytics, advertising or tracking cookies. On Apple devices it uses the built-in system font; on other devices it loads the Inter font from Google Fonts, which means Google receives your IP address for that request. Our hosting provider may keep standard server logs (such as IP address and user agent) for security for a short period. The checkout window is provided by Dodo Payments and is subject to their policies.

Your rights

You can ask us what personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, subject to tax and accounting record-keeping obligations. Email nerdynikhil@gmail.com.
