Scan Documents to PDF on Your Mac
Scan Document turns paper into a clean PDF. Use your iPhone through Continuity Camera, or drop photos of paper you already took, and Toolbox finds the page edges, crops, straightens and cleans up each page. You can add a searchable text layer so you can find and copy the words later.

How to use Scan Document
Open Scan Document and click Scan with your iPhone, or drop photos of paper.
Check each page, then rotate or remove pages as needed.
Pick a Look (Color, Grayscale or Black & White), a page size, and whether to make text searchable.
Click Save PDF.
Questions about Scan Document
How do I scan a document to my Mac with my iPhone?
Click Scan with your iPhone in Scan Document and point the phone at the paper. Continuity Camera sends each scan straight to the window. Your iPhone and Mac need to be signed in to the same Apple Account.
Can I turn photos of paper into a PDF?
Yes. Drop photos of receipts or pages and Toolbox finds the edges and straightens them. If no edges are found, the whole photo is used.
Which look gives the smallest file?
Black & White makes the smallest files and works best for plain text. Color keeps logos and photos, and Grayscale sits in between.
Can the scanned PDF be searched?
Turn on Make text searchable and Toolbox adds an invisible layer of recognized text, so you can search, select and copy it.
