Convert Unix timestamps on your Mac
Paste a Unix timestamp and Timestamp Converter shows it as a date in your time zone, in UTC and in any other zone you pick, along with ISO 8601, RFC 2822 and HTTP date forms and how long ago it was. It works out whether a number is seconds, milliseconds, microseconds or nanoseconds from its length, and reads dates like 2024-05-01T12:00:00Z back into epoch time.

How to use Timestamp Converter
Open Timestamp Converter. With the field empty it shows the current time, ready to copy.
Paste a timestamp or a date. Leave the unit on Detect Unit, or choose Seconds, Milliseconds, Microseconds or Nanoseconds.
Pick a second time zone to compare, or pick a date in the calendar to get its Unix time.
Click the copy button next to any format.
Questions about Timestamp Converter
How do I convert an epoch timestamp to a date?
Paste it into Timestamp Converter. Ten digits are read as seconds, 13 as milliseconds, 16 as microseconds and 19 as nanoseconds, and the date appears in local time, UTC and the zone you picked.
How do I get the current Unix time on a Mac?
Open Timestamp Converter. The current Unix time in seconds is shown at the top with a Copy button, and Copy ms copies it in milliseconds. In Terminal, date +%s prints it too.
Which date formats can it read?
ISO 8601 with any number of fractional digits, RFC 2822 and other common formats. A date written without a time zone is read as your local time, and Toolbox says so.
Is it free, and does it go online?
Toolbox is a paid app, and one purchase includes every tool, with no subscription or account. Conversions happen on your Mac, with no network connection needed.
