Annotate screenshots on your Mac
Annotate Screenshot opens an image you drop, paste or capture and gives you what a quick explainer needs: arrows, rectangles, ellipses, lines, text, a highlighter, numbered steps, a freehand pen, blur and crop. When you're done, copy the full-resolution image, save it as PNG or JPEG, or drag the thumbnail straight into a chat or an email.

How to use Annotate Screenshot
Open Annotate Screenshot and drop an image, press Command-V to paste one, or click Capture Area to select part of the screen.
Pick a tool from the toolbar or press its key: A for Arrow, R for Rectangle, T for Text, N for Numbered Step, B for Blur and so on.
Set the color, width, shadow and text size. Select an annotation to move or restyle it, and press Command-Z to undo.
Click Copy, choose PNG or JPEG and click Save, or drag the thumbnail into any app. Your original isn't changed.
Questions about Annotate Screenshot
How do I draw an arrow on a screenshot on Mac?
Open the screenshot in Annotate Screenshot, choose Arrow (or press A) and drag from where the arrow starts to where it should point. Hold Shift to keep it straight.
Can I add numbered steps to a screenshot?
Yes. Choose Numbered Step (N) and click where each step goes. Every click adds the next number, which makes how-to images quick to put together.
Can I hide a password or an email address in the screenshot?
Yes. Choose Blur (B), pick Blur or Pixelate and drag over the detail. Blur regions hide the screenshot underneath, never your other annotations. To cover many images at once, or find faces and text automatically, use Redact Image.
Is it free, and does it upload my screenshots?
Toolbox is a paid app, and one purchase includes every tool, with no subscription or account. Annotate Screenshot works entirely on your Mac. Saved images go to a new dated folder in Downloads.
