Compare two texts or files on your Mac

Paste or drop two versions and Diff Checker shows what changed line by line, with the changed words highlighted inside each changed line. View it side by side or inline, ignore whitespace or letter case, fold long unchanged stretches down to a few lines of context, and copy the result as a unified diff. Each side can have up to 200,000 lines.

Questions about Diff Checker

How do I compare two text files on a Mac?

Drop both files onto Diff Checker, or one on each side. Removed lines are marked in red, added lines in green, and the words that changed are highlighted inside them.

Can it ignore whitespace and case changes?

Yes. Ignore Whitespace skips differences in spacing and indentation, and Ignore Case treats upper and lower case letters as the same.

Is it free, and is my text uploaded?

Toolbox is a paid app, and one purchase includes every tool, with no subscription or account. Comparisons run on your Mac, so contracts, code and configuration never go to an online diff site.
